A bit of background on Copper Mountain Ranch. We purchased the property in October 2013 as a retreat to get away from hectic urban living. The property is 42 acres and backs to BLM lands on the west and north sides. It is totally off-grid living as there are no utilities. There are neighboring properties but they are so far away that we do not hear our neighbors or any sounds other than the occasional plane flying overhead. The closest town (Cotopaxi) is about a 20-minute drive. Elevation at the northwest corner of the property where the log home will be built is 9,700 feet.
The mountain range in the background is the Sangre de Cristo (14,000 foot peaks) and about 14-miles in distance to the closest peak as the crow flies. The closest mountain in the foreground on the left (with all the trees) is Copper Mountain and elevation is nearly 10,000 feet. Our property line runs about 1/2 way up Copper Mountain, hence we have named our property Copper Mountain Ranch.
